Gulab jamun recipe | Instant gulab jamun recipe | MTR instant gulab jamun recipe | How to make quick and easy gulab jamun recipe | గులాబ్ జామున్ తయారీ

Today I am going to share you a famous and most popular indian dessert or sweet, Gulab jamun which will be delicious and soft that melt in the mouth. We can make these gulab jamuns by using instant mix on any festivals or special occasions.

Ingredients for Sugar syrup:

  • Sugar - 3 cups
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • Saffron strands - few or orange food colour
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp (optional)

Ingredients for dough:

  • Instant gulab jamun mix - 2 cups
  • Milk - 1/2 cup or required amount (room temperature)
  • Ghee - 2 tsps or required amount
  • Oil - To deep fry

Procedure for Instant gulab jamun:

  • I am using 200 grams of mtr instant mix. First sieve this instant mix and make sure there are no lumps in it. After sieving, here I got 2 cups of jamun mix which I have measured using 236ml cup.
  • Now slowly and gradually, add milk which is at room temperature and make into soft dough. Here by using milk, it gives a rich taste to these gulab jamuns and make sure do not knead the dough. Here To get a soft dough I used ½ cup milk.
  • Now grease the dough with a tsp of ghee, cover the dough and rest it for 10 mins.
  • On other side you can make sugar syrup, into wide open large pan, add 3 cups of sugar and equal quantity of water. Mix it well and allow sugar to melt completely on a medium heat. 
  • Once sugar syrup comes to boil, add a tsp cardamom powder, few strands of saffron or even you can use orange food color of your choice. Now boil this syrup for 8 minutes on a medium heat (no need to get any thread consistency) and simultaneously on other side heat some oil to deep fry in a heavy bottom pan on low to medium heat.
  • Now grease some ghee to your palms. take small portion of dough ball as shown in the video, press it once with your palm, squeeze it little bit and slowly release your palms. Make into small round shaped ball and make sure there are no cracks in these round shaped balls. Repeat the same process for the remaining.
  • Once the oil is nice and hot on a low to medium heat, slowly drop round shaped balls. Make sure to fry them on a low to medium heat. After dropping into oil, immediately do not use wire skimmer or slotted ladle, jamuns may break. But by using wooden spoon, rotate oil so that these jamuns will fry evenly from all the sides as shown in the video. Fry these jamuns in small batches and until golden colour from all the sides.
  • Once the sugar syrup is ready, turn off the flame and transfer hot sugar syrup into a wide open deep glass bowl.
  • When jamuns are nice and golden, transfer fried jamuns by using wire skimmer or slotted ladle into hot sugar syrup. Soak these fried jamuns in hot sugar syrup for 20 to 30 minutes or until jamuns completely absorb the syrup.
  • Serve these yummy and tasty instant gulab jamuns as a sweet or dessert for any festive or special occasions.


  • Generally While preparing sugar syrup, simultaneously you can prepare dough and on other side heat oil to deep fry. So in that way you can make it so fast and will not take much time to prepare.
