Rajma paneer pulao Recipe / Rajma pulao Recipe / Kidney beans paneer pulao recipe

Rajma paneer pulao is a most flavorful and nutritious dish . This delicious dish is perfect for lunch or dinner along with onion or cucumber raita of your choice.

Main important notes are:

  • Wash, soak rajma in water for overnight and Pressure cook rajma for 3 whistles or until rajma is nice and soft on a medium flame. Once this is done, turn off the flame and set this aside until pressure settle downs completely, so that steam cooks rajma.
  • By marinating paneer in curd, it gives an additional taste and after cooking pulao, paneer will be soft. (we can even use paneer without marinating but this turns to little hard after cooking pulao).
  • Wash and soak basmati rice just before you start the cooking process or for 20 to 30 minutes. By soaking basmati rice for longer time, each rice grain breaks while cooking.
  • While cooking pulao on stove top, cook on a medium flame until water reduces below rice level,  gently mix it once and reduce the flame to as low as possible. Cover it with an air tight lid, cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until it is nice and done. Finally turn off the flame, cover it with an air tight lid for just 5 more minutes.
  • You can prepare this recipe instantly by using Canned rajma beans, while using this canned rajma, wash it well in water. Drain out all the water and use it. (No need to boil or pressure cook rajma, you can use it directly)
