  • Here by adding vegetable or canola oil, that gives super moist to cake, make sure to use only vegetable oil or canola oil or any unflavoured oil of your choice.
  • After adding hot water into cake mixture, the cake batter will be runny that will be perfectly fine and instead of hot water you can even add instant coffee powder mixed in hot water and can be used of your choice.
  • Fill the cake pan with half filled and place it in the center of the oven for even baking.

  • Powdered Sugar - 1 1/2 Cups ( or Adjust to 2 to 3 cups according to your choice)
  • Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips - 1 Cup (room temperature)
  • Vanilla extract - 2 tsps
Procedure for Chocolate cake:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit which is around 180 degrees Celsius and grease two 9” cake pans with butter and sprinkle some flour. Remove excess flour as shown in the video or line up the cake pans by using parchment paper. Set these cake pans aside.
  • Now add all the dry ingredients, place a sieve on a large bowl and add all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda and sift it well. So that there will not be any lumps in this mixture if any, you need to break the lumps as shown in the video. Now Whisk it well until all the ingredients are well combined and set the dry ingredients mixture aside.
  • Into another large bowl, add all the wet ingredients eggs, oil, milk, vanilla extract. Beat the mixture for a minute or two or until they are well combined by using hand mixer or electric mixer or you can even use whisk of your choice.
  • Now add dry ingredients mixture into wet ingredients mixture, you can add it at a time and gently mix it once completely so that it will not splatter.  Beat it well for 2 to 3 minutes by using hand mixer or electric mixer or even you can use whisk of your choice. Inbetween Scrape the edges of the bowl.
  • Now add boiling water ( if you like the flavor of coffee powder, you can even add instant coffee powder into boiled water and then add into the cake mixture) and mix it once. Here the cake mixture will be runny and that is perfectly fine.
  • Divide the cake mixture into two cake pans. path the cake pans gently, so if there are any air bubbles it will escape. place the cake pans in the center of preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick or fork inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. depending on type of oven you are using, baking time may varies. So keep an eye on that so that it will not end up with over baked cake
  • Once cakes are done, check it once by using toothpick or fork as shown in the video as it is neat and clean. Let the cake rest for 10 to 15 minutes and then run knife around the edges of the pan, invert cake onto wire rack. As shown in the video, you can see this is nice and spongy. Now let the cake comes to room temperature before frosting.
Procedure for Sugar Syrup:
  • In the meanwhile make sugar syrup, add water, sugar into a saucepan and allow sugar to melt completely on a medium flame. once it comes to boil, turn off the flame and then add lemon juice or even you can add vinegar of your choice. By adding lemon juice or vinegar it prevents crystallizing. Keep this sugar syrup aside and let it cool completely.
Procedure for Chocolate buttercream frosting:
  • Melt semi sweet chocolate chips in a heat proof bowl placed over a sauce pan of boiling water or even you can microwave this by adding 2 tbsps of butter and milk. Allow this melted chocolate to cool down completely (room temperature).
  • Into a large deep bowl, add butter and beat well for 1 or 2 minutes or until butter is nice and smooth by hand mixer or electric mixer, increase the speed gradually (or even you can use whisk, but it takes little more extra time). Make sure the blades are neat and clean before you start beating it.
  • Sift powdered sugar, make sure there is no lumps. Gently Mix it once completely as shown in the video, so that it will not splatter. Now beat it well for 3 to 4 minutes or until it is light and fluffy. While beating Increase the speed gradually.
  • Add vanilla extract and beat it once. Now add melted chocolate (which is at room temperature) and beat it well until it is smooth and glossy or for 3 to 4 minutes. While beating, Increase the speed gradually.
  • Here our chocolate buttercream frosting is ready now. cover this and Set this aside. You can even store this in freezer for 2 to 3 weeks and use whenever if required, but before using make sure frosting is at room temperature.
For Assembling Chocolate cake:
  • Place turntable or don't worry if you are not having turntable instead of that you can even use a plate placed over the bowl as shown in the video and here is our turn table.
  • If the cake is having dome, slice off the top layer of dome to achieve flat cake top or else continue to next step. Do not discard the sliced one which can even use it for decoration.
  • Now place one layer of cake on turntable and start light brushing with sugar syrup, make sure syrup is at room temperature. Soaking in sugar syrup will keep cake fresh and moist. If you consume cake on the same day probably no need to soak in sugar syrup but, if you want to keep it for few days we have to use syrup because cake tends to dry out in few days.
  • Now add frosting about a cup and spread it evenly by using offset spatula or knife.  place the second layer and repeat same procedure with sugar syrup. Add remaining frosting and spread it evenly on top and sides of the cake. If you are going to decorate the cake with some rosettes transfer some amount of frosting into piping bag and can decorate it.
  • Decorate cake with some cake mate imperial fruit. You can get these from grocery stores or even you can decorate the cake of your choice.
  • Here our yummy and delicious chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting is ready now.
  • Cut the cake, If you want a clean cut, just wipe off the knife with paper towel of each cut. Here as shown in the video, you can see this is so yummy and delicious.
Note:

  • If you are interested to decorate with buttercream frosting you can stop adding melted chocolate and you use buttercream for decoration.
  • Before frosting let the cake come to room temperature, if it not at room temperature while frosting butter will melt and it spoil.
  • You can even use single cake pan but it should be half filled with cake mixture and after cake is done, you can cut into layers and assemble frosting.
