Bottle Gourd Peel Chutney Recipe / Sorakaya Thokku Pachadi Recipe / Anapakaya Thokku Pachadi Recipe


Healthy and Tasty Bottle Gourd peel Chutney is a good source of Fiber. This chutney is so simple and easy to prepare with less ingredients and within less time. Bottle Gourd is also called as Sorakaya or Anapakaya in telugu.

This is my Grandma's recipe. Hope everyone make it and like this Chutney...:)

Ingredients:

  • Bottle Gourd - 1 large (Peeled Skin 1 Cup)
  • Green chilies - 2 (Adjust to your taste)
  • Sesame Seeds - 2 Tbsps
  • Garlic Cloves - 2
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 Tbsp
  • Dry Mango Powder - 1/2 Tsp (or) Tamarind - small piece
  • Salt - To Taste
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/8 Tsp
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - few (optional to garnish)


Tempering / Seasoning:

  • Oil - 1 Tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  • Urad Dal - 2 Tbsps
  • Curry Leaves - Few


Process:
  • In a pan, dry roast sesame seeds on a medium flame until light golden colour. Allow it to cool completely and Set aside.
  • Wash bottle gourd well in water and Cut the edges, peel the skin of the bottle gourd.
  • Cut the peeled skin into small pieces.
  • Take a pan, add oil and once the oil is nice and hot, add cumin seeds, garlic, Slit green chilies, peeled skin pieces, turmeric powder and fry it well until light golden colour.
  • Allow it to cool completely.
  • Transfer the mixture to the mixie jar and add enough salt, dry mango powder, roasted sesame seeds and grind it well without adding water.
  • Take same pan for tempering, add oil and once the oil is nice and hot, add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and saute it well until light golden colour.
  • Transfer the mixture to the grinded chutney.
  • Serve the chutney with rice.
