Delicious Andhra Style Spicy Prawns fry or (Royyala Vepudu) is Simple and Easy to prepare with minimal ingredients and it tastes Yum....:)

Ingredients:

To Marinate:
  • 500 Grams of Prawns, deshelled, deveined
  • Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice (1 Medium Size full Lemon)
  • 1/8 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ Tsp Salt (Adjust to your taste)
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/8 Tsp Pepper Powder (Adjust to your taste).
For Fry:
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Red Chili
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • 1 Medium Size Onion Finely chopped
  • 3 to 4 Slit Green Chilies (Adjust to your taste)
  • 1/8 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 5 to 6 Tsp’s Oil
  • 2 Tsp’s Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • 3 to 4 Tsp’s Chopped Coriander Leaves


Procedure:
  • Take the Prawns which is deshelled, deveined and cleaned by adding Little amount of Salt, Turmeric Powder, Lemon Juice (by cleaning with these ingredients, the raw smell goes off).
  • Marinate cleaned Prawns with all the ingredients listed under ‘To Marinate’. Cover this and set aside for atleast 1 hour.
  • Turn on the stove on a medium heat and take a wide open pan or wok, add Marinated prawns. Cook until prawns releases water and evaporates, it takes about 10 minutes (Do not add any water or else drain the water).
  • Into another pan, add 5 to 6 tsp’s Oil. Once the oil is nice and hot, add cumin seeds, broken Red chili, Curry leaves, Green Chilies, chopped Onions and cook until onions turns to golden brown by adding a pinch of salt (by adding salt onions will cook little faster).Stir inbetween cooking to prevent sticking at the bottom as shown in the video.
  • Now add Ginger & Garlic paste, 1 tsp Coriander powder, ½ tsp Salt(Adjust to your taste), 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder, 1/8 tsp Turmeric powder and Saute it well for 1 minute.
  • Add Cooked Prawns, mix it well and put the lid on and cook for 2 to 3 minutes (so that all the masala will nicely coat to the prawns).
  • Finally Add chopped coriander leaves and Mix it well.
  • Serve it hot or warm along with Rice or Roti.
Tips:
  • After Marinating, do not put the lid while cooking the prawns. If there is any raw smell still remaining, will goes off.
  • By adding pinch of salt to the onions, the onions will cook little faster.
  • Instead of Lemon juice, can also use curd. but it tastes more better by add lemon juice for any non-veg recipes.
